Stormont Lodge residents Flora, Peggy and Elizabeth along with care team Kaye and Amanda went on an outing to Dundee to get into the spirit of Christmas.

Flora, Peggy and Elizabeth chose to visit Dobbie’s garden centre as they always admire the beautiful Christmas displays on show.

Activities coordinator Kaye told us “Everyone really enjoyed getting out and about.  We had a lovely walk around all the Christmas displays,  admiring the trees and the huge array of decorations on the way, and of course a trip to the cafe for a hot drink and some delicious homemade cake was high on our residents agenda! With the festive season now upon us, residents are very much looking forward to lots more Christmas themed activities to get stuck into.”

It is very important for our care home residents to be encouraged to continue their social connections, especially at this time of year when it is all too easy to feel isolated and according to Flora, Peggy and Elizabeth, a trip into town is just the right medicine to help fill the happy tank.
