The team at Balhousie Lisden took on a huge walking challenge – and raised a sum to match.

On July 1, the team tackled a sponsored walk from Glen Clova Hotel back to the home in Kirriemuir, a distance of more than 15 miles.

It was all in aid of the residents’ comfort fund, and boy did they make a difference!

With donations still coming in, the intrepid group from Lisden have raised more than £2,000 – all of which will be put towards equipment and activities for Lisden’s residents.

Setting out at 7.30am, the intrepid group stopped off at the Gella Brig for breakfast, then enjoyed another pit stop at Cullow Market, where the family of Staff Nurse, Steff Cox, dropped off some ice lollies.

“We all had a great time doing the walk, keeping each other motivated,” said Brenda Coutts, Activites Coordinator at Lisden.

“We knew the walk was going to be hard and challenging, but we were all determined to do it.

“The hardest part was the last three miles as we were all getting stiff and tired, but we made it by encouraging each other on!

“We’re all so shocked and delighted we managed to raise £2,000. This will be a huge boost to our comfort fund, providing entertainment and activities for our residents.”

Well done, everyone – hope your blisters aren’t too painful!
