Balhousie Care Coupar Angus really pushed the boat out for the latest in our 30th Birthday celebrations, enjoying the build up to the date with extra cake!
Having fun pulling all the plans together for a party to remember, top of the list of priorities was of course the essential, yummy cake, sculpted in true Balhousie blue colours. After all, we all know a party without cake is just a meeting! Just one thing was missed when booking in, the date for arrival! Turning up a month early – and as cake is for life not just for birthdays – it was enjoyed early as a taster for the party.
The rest of the arrangements all went to plan: music and singing, goodies stalls with homemade cakes, marmalade, books and movies. The soak and splash was extra fun with volunteer staff getting pelted with wet sponges. It was a true Balhousie family time with staff and residents, as well as residents’ family and their friends of all ages, donating prizes and helping with the raffle and tombola. And there was a face painting area too – for kids of all ages! The residents made a picture frame to take photos of each other and make memories, especially with the cartoon cow wondering around, aka Coupar Angus Activities Coordinator, Patrycja dressed up to give everybody extra smiles.
And then there was the second cake. A different design with swirls of blue and cream icing, and cup cakes too, all made fabulously by the Coupar Angus chef, Jan and her daughter. Everyone was ready for their second little slice of heaven.
