thumbs up live pic of a tandem skydive

Balhousie Rumbling Bridge, Deputy Home Manager, Cat Steer has taken fundraising to new heights.

You’ll remember we told you about our Cat few weeks ago, how passionate she is about her work at our Rumbling Bridge Specialist Huntington’s and Dementia unit in the glorious Glendevon, Kinross-shire, to the point of, not only volunteering, but organising a charity skydive to raise funds for the Scottish Huntington’s Association.

Well, the jump took place just last weekend, and we have not only got the shots to prove it, but footage of the whole adventure.

See the full video of Cat – our crazy and fabulous DHM – completing her skydive to raise funds for Huntington’s below. You can see the broad smiles are not just the g-force as she plummets towards the ground!

Cat told us: “Doing the jump is indescribable if I’m honest, it was simply amazing.

“I thought it would feel ‘extreme’ or scary, but it was one of the most peaceful things I have ever done. And the view! No words are needed for the view – it was incredible.  The best part was the freefall. From leaving the plane until the parashoot opened, I felt like nothing else existed, nothing else mattered and it was so pure and relaxing.

“I am so glad I’ve done the skydive and proud of myself; I would do it again in a heartbeat if I had the chance.  It still feels a little like a dream!”

And the final fundraising figure? £750! Huge congratulations Cat! What a star!

When we say Cat goes above and beyond in her work, we know she really means ABOVE!
